SYLVANIA, Ala. (AP) -- Authorities say six Sylvania School students allegedly held three girls against their will during a class and touched them inappropriately through their clothing.
DeKalb School Resource Officer Scott Tarrant arrested the six, ranging in age from 13 to 16, at the school Tuesday. They later were released to their parents.
DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said five of the students face sexual abuse and harassment charges. The sixth was charged with harassment.
Their names were withheld because of their juvenile status.
School officials said the incidents allegedly started in August and occurred when students in an agriculture class were unsupervised.
DeKalb County schools superintendent Charles Warren said the students will be sent to alternative school.
