Autistic student pushed into brick wall, witness testifies

A former special-education teacher at a Schaumburg school pushed an autistic student into a brick wall as he was trying to force the child into a timeout room, a teacher's aide testified Wednesday.
But Carol Greco said she did not tell officials at Frost Junior High School that teacher Patrick McCarthy was abusive. She said his conduct appeared "non-professional" and that he seemed increasingly agitated at the start of the 2007-08 school year.
McCarthy, 32, of Palatine is on trial on charges of aggravated battery and unlawful restraint.
