KY: Lone Oak teacher charged with sexual abuse of a student

PADUCAH, KY. - A Lone Oak High School teacher has been charged with sexual abuse involving a student.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Department said 34 year old Jason E. Neely of Metropolis was arrested by detectives Monday night at 7 after a report was made of a sexual relationship with a student. The incident was reported to have taken place off of school property in the early part of this month.

The investigation began Sunday night and on Monday investigators met with McCracken County attorney Tim Kaltenbach as to the findings of the investigation. At the conclusion of that meeting an arrest warrant was obtained charging Neely with 1st degree sexual abuse.

After questioning on Monday night by sheriff's detectives, Neely admitted to the allegations.

He was arrested and lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail with bond set at $5000 cash.
